Are you PACEsetter material?
At the 2010 National Jamboree, you will have the unique opportunity to join an
elite group of Scouts who will be leaders for Scouting’s next 100 years… PACEsetters. Each Jamboree Scout who completes the program will become a member of PACEsetters… and of course, there’ll be cool stuff for members to wear… so be sure to get yourself ready and join us at the Jamboree!
To be a PACEsetter, you need to do the following:
- Earn the Personal Fitness Merit Badge
- Complete the PACEsetters Program at the Jamboree
Earn the Personal Fitness Merit Badge
Between now and the Jamboree, you’ve got time to complete the Personal Fitness merit badge. Not only is it required for Eagle, but it will also get you ready for the Jamboree!
We’d like you to print this out and use it to check off the requirements as you finish them. If you don’t get them all finished by the Jamboree, that’s ok, just bring the sheets with you and you’ll be able to complete them at the Jamboree. Have your Personal Fitness merit badge counselor approve each of the requirements you’ve completed, and show this sheet to your Jamboree Troop Scoutmaster so he can record your progress before you leave for the Jamboree. Also, bring this sheet with you to the Jamboree!
Take a look at requirement #7… this requirement takes at least 12 weeks (3 months) to complete, so get started on that one now! To help you with this, below you’ll find a link to a Personal Fitness merit badge workbook – print it out and use it to help you with this requirement (and the others!).

Complete the PACEsetters Program at the Jamboree
At the Jamboree, search out and find the PACEsetters headquarters tent… there you’ll find out how to become a member of PACEsetters, and earn the Jamboree PACEsetters Award! The sooner you find us, the more you’ll be able to do, so check us out after getting to the Jamboree!
